Cover Reveal for ‘Dragon Twins’ by Allison Cosgrove!

Separated at birth…reunited by murder

Behind the gates of an exclusive Lake City neighborhood, prominent businessman Don Chu’s housekeeper has been brutally murdered and his teenage daughter taken. The high-profile case has the Mayor himself sending the case across Detective Stan Brookshire’s desk. He barely has time to digest the details of the two sinister crimes before he’s called to yet another disturbing scene.

This time, at the other end of the city, another murder and attempted kidnapping ring out with a similarity too convenient for coincidence. As the clues fall into place and the evidence mounts, Stan starts to see a pattern emerge. A DNA match, and the two cases now become one. With the help of an unexpected young ally, Stan begins his search for a victim that may still be alive. It’s a race against the clock and across the globe that will test his skills to the absolute limit. Two murders. Two kidnappings. Twice the danger.

An Excerpt from Dragon Twins

A loud noise startled Jade from her slight doze. As she straightened up in her chair, she glanced at the clock on her bedside table across the room that held her textbooks. Eleven thirty-five.

Leaning back at her desk, she reached over and felt the bowl of soup Wei-Lee, the family housekeeper, had brought. It had been piping hot but now it was tepid. She estimated she was out less than half an hour.

Another crash came from the direction of the kitchen. What on earth was Wei-Lee doing at this time of night to make that much noise?

Jade started to get up when the door to her room flew open and two almost identical Asian men burst into her room. Grabbing her before she could make a sound, her feet lashed out and knocked the books to the floor as they dragged her toward the door.

“You’re coming with us,” one of the men said in a thick, Chinese accent. “You can either come quietly or we’ll drag you out.”

“There’s no way I’m letting you take me anywhere!” she yelled, struggling against them. Their grip loosened and this time she racked her nails across one man’s cheek. Crying out in pain, he released her arm to protect his face.

She ran out of the bedroom and down the stairs hoping to find Wei-Lee or something to defend herself. Jade heard them running after her. Chancing a glance over her shoulder, she saw they were right behind her as she raced through the house trying to get to the kitchen.

She was almost there when a man stepped out of the doorway, into her path. He was Asian but what caught her attention was the knife in his hand. Red liquid dripped from it onto the tile floor. She managed to duck around him and into the kitchen where she was halted at the sight of Wei-Lee. She lay dead in a slowly spreading pool of blood.

A hand grabbed her shoulder and tried to spin her around. Her reflexes drove her forward, jumping over the housekeeper’s body she dove for the cordless phone to dial 911. She managed to dial two digits before the phone was knocked out of her hand and it went flying across the floor.

Rough hands grabbed her and tore her clothing as she tried to get away. It was useless. They were too strong. It was too much for her. The sight of the dead housekeeper, the men in her house…the blood. There was so much blood.

A hand reached up and put a cloth over her mouth, she fought against it but it was no use. She had no strength left. As her world faded to darkness the last thing she heard was, “Do not hurt her. Ling will not be happy if she is harmed.”

Little Nani Revisited – Blog Tour!

BLOG TOUR – LITTLE NANI REVISITED

LittleNaniBanner

Thank you for visiting this wonderful blog today so you can know a bit more about Little Nani, her stories, her world, and her author. OK, her author is not as interesting as Little Nani, but what can we do? They go hand in hand, so please bear with her.

Why are we here today? Because Little Nani is suffering a series of changes. “The Funny Adventures of Little Nani” was published for the first time last September 2012, both in print and in ebook form, on Amazon and Createspace. However, along the months, I started feeling less enthusiastic about my book, thinking that the cover was dull and boring, and also thinking that the stories could be improved, maybe going through some extra editing and proofing. So that’s what I did, and now I am much happier about the result and I trust that I will start getting many more sales. Why? Because I will make the books available not only on Amazon and Createspace, but also on Smashwords, Barnes and Noble, and Feed-A-Read.

There will be also many different options to buy the books. Do you want to buy the whole set of stories? You can do it. Do you want to buy just some stories, the ones you think you would like? You can do it too, since I will publish the stories individually on Smashwords. So you see, different options to match different customers, different readers.

Once all this is settled and the books are republished on all those retailers, I will start to do the same process with the second book in the Little Nani series, which will be available next Fall.

Follow the whole blog tour since I will be announcing all the news in the different blogs!

AUTHOR BIO

CintaAuthor

Cinta Garcia de la Rosa is a Spanish writer who has loved the written word since he discovered she was able to read books at age 5. Since then, she has become a bookworm and reads around 100 books every year. She also writes, every day, compulsively, even in the middle of the night. You cannot control when inspiration hits you, can you? She writes in English because she is convinced that in a previous life she was British, so writing in English feels more natural to her than writing in her native language. Yes, she is crazy like that. Cinta Garcia is the author of “The Funny Adventures of Little Nani”, a collection of short stories for children, and “A Foreigner in London”, a short story published on Smashwords. She is a member of Independent Authors International (iAi).

Why did you choose to write children’s books?

Well, the truth is that I didn’t choose to write children’s books. I am an author of contemporary short stories and horror stories, although I write my horror stories under a pen name. Writing for children was something that I never expected to do. When I wrote a silly story for my blog and people started liking it and asking for more, I started giving more serious thoughts to Little Nani and her world and I thought, Why not?

So I didn’t choose to write children’s stories. The stories chose me by taking over my mind. Little Nani and her friends starting talking to me on a daily basis, so I simply couldn’t ignore them any longer. And I can’t complain, since it is a lot of fun to write their stories. In a way, it is rewarding to write stories for kids, since you know that they can read a story written by you, draw in the book, and smile.

I write children’s books, yes, but I also write other kinds of books. I like to think of myself as a versatile writer, and this stage of writing kids’ stories is fun for now, so I guess I will continue “choosing” writing for children.

Thanks, Trish, for hosting me on your blog!

That Moment When…

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. I might pass out. I definitely need some wine. And maybe chocolate.

The first draft of ‘Dying to Return’ is done. Done. BOOM. I knew it was coming…but it snuck up on me anyway. Sort of like a hungry cougar. The Muse has been hunting me relentlessly for the last few weeks and today, the Muse finally caught me – and the sharp teeth and long claws hurt. This is the end of my Piper’s story, told from her eyes. The Station will continue to have stories to tell, but Piper won’t be narrating. So yeah, I cried and laughed, because I finished something important (to me).

Though the next few weeks will be full of time spent editing, formatting and marketing, I can breathe easier now. Release day is just around the corner. That moment when I finish a book is almost like winning the lottery, minus the influx in cash, of course. I so badly want to share this story with you! 😀

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00071]Dying to Return is the 3rd book in the Young Adult Fantasy, The Station Series. Piper Willow’s adventure in the afterlife continues as she struggles to discover who she is and what is expected of her. Faced with decisions that could change everything, she must weigh her desire to be with the ones she has come to love, or satisfy her curiosity and find out what lies beyond her world with someone new. What Piper experiences and the choices she makes could not only alter the delicate inner workings of the Station, but the delicate balance that Piper has managed to maintain inside herself. In the end, will it all be worth it?

JUNE 28th – save the date!

Monday Snippet for The Station Fans

“…You’re special, Piper. Remember that always, but never let it go to your head. You have a purpose, just as you always did. Your choices in life, especially the one that led you here, they don’t define you. Would you take back your death if you could? Yes, I’m sure you would. But you can’t, dear. None of us can. We can only move on and help others. We are the lucky ones who have the chance to do something great. Something exceptional,” Niles pauses and hugs me again. “I’ve done many things here I am proud of, Piper. But I think my greatest accomplishment might be meeting you.”
